About this notice
Up and Up Education (高升教育) complies with the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which protects the personal information of children under 13. Because we serve K–12 students — including elementary and middle schoolers — we collect limited personal information about children, but only with a parent or guardian's verifiable consent, and only to deliver tutoring.

2. What information we collect from children under 13
We may collect the following, in each case only from a parent or guardian (not directly from the child):
- Child's first name and last initial.
- Grade level and age.
- Subjects or tests the child is preparing for.
- Diagnostic scores, practice-test results, and written work the parent provides to us.
- Communications with parents regarding the child's progress.
We do not knowingly ask children under 13 to provide personal information directly through forms, live chat, or any other mechanism on our website. If a child under 13 attempts to submit personal information to us, we will not retain it.
3. How we use children's information
We use this information only to:
- Deliver tutoring instruction tailored to the child's level.
- Track the child's academic progress and report it to the parent.
- Communicate with the parent about scheduling, billing, and program matters.
We do not use children's information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the student's instruction.
4. Parental consent
Before we collect or use any personal information about a child under 13, we obtain verifiable parental consent through our enrollment process (a signed enrollment agreement and, where applicable, a written email confirmation). A parent may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
5. Third parties we share with
We share the minimum information necessary with the following operational service providers, each of whom is contractually required to protect children's information:
- Cal.com — to schedule lessons (parent email and name; no child information).
- HubSpot — to maintain family records (parent contact info; child first name and grade only).
- Google Workspace — to store diagnostic results and lesson notes.
We do not sell, rent, or trade children's information. We do not share it with third-party advertisers.
6. Parental rights
At any time, a parent may:
- Review the personal information we have collected about their child.
- Request that we delete their child's personal information.
- Refuse to permit further collection or use of their child's information.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] from the email address on file, or call us at (646) 683-8612. We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days.
Please note: if you ask us to delete all of your child's information, we will no longer be able to provide tutoring services to the child.
7. Data retention and deletion
We retain children's personal information only for as long as needed to provide the service and for a reasonable period afterward for academic reference (for example, if the family returns for additional prep). We will delete children's records within 30 days of a parent's written deletion request, subject to any legal obligation to retain limited records.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect children's information, including encrypted transmission, access controls, and vetted service providers.
9. Changes to this notice
If we materially change how we handle children's information, we will notify parents by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this notice.
